Through poetry, spoken word, song, and embodied performance, VOICES 21C presents WALLS COME TUMBLIN’ DOWN, a powerful program centered on sanctuary, survival, and collective liberation. The ensemble brings forward stories forged in conditions of danger and care, exile and belonging, stories emerging from lived experiences of surveillance, displacement, incarceration, and containment. Grounded in the urgency of the present moment, the project responds to ongoing ICE raids, escalating attacks on freedom of speech, and the pervasive precarity shaping the lives of incarcerated people, migrants, and their loved ones. Working across artistic forms, VOICES 21C creates spaces where voice, breath, and movement become not only modes of expression, but acts of witnessing, refusal, remembrance, and collective resistance. The program unfolds in four interconnected sections that together trace a narrative arc from displacement and grief toward resistance, rootedness, and hope.
